Frequently Asked Questions
Technical questions
Is there any limit to the length of the call?
The license price includes unlimited calls to the dispatch center. However, Lumnio has a built-in function that automatically ends the call after one hour if the user forgets to end it. The maximum length of a video call can be extended upon request. Just contact our technical support.
Can a non-registered user join a technical support call?
Yes, to connect to an ongoing call, it is not necessary to have a Lumnio account. The unregistered user will receive an invitation by email or SMS. They can easily connect via a web browser.
Which languages does Lumnio support?
The Lumnio user interface is available in a total of 10 languages. Specifically, these are English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Czech, Slovak, Ukrainian, Polish, and Hungarian. Online translations of technical support calls are available in more than 100 languages.
Can Lumnio be run locally on-premise?
No. Lumnio is a cloud application which runs on the Microsoft Azure platform. It is therefore not possible to operate the system on local servers. Documentation in the Lumnio system can be synchronised with local data warehouses.
How much data storage is available?
One licence for the Lumnio includes 1 GB of data storage space, which is enough for normal use. The largest volume of data is usually taken up by video recordings of technical support calls and workflow records.
Smart glasses
Are smart glasses suitable for harsh conditions?
Lumnio is compatible with smart glasses for industrial use that are highly durable. Some types of smart glasses can be mounted on a safety helmet, and shock-resistant or waterproof versions are also available.
However, each environment has its own specific requirements that the choice of device must be adapted to. That’s why we offer several types of smart glasses.Does Lumnio for smart glasses have different features from the version for mobile devices?
Lumnio offers the same features whether you use it on smart glasses, tablets or smartphones. You also create a single version of your content for all devices. However, the hardware you choose can affect the availability of individual features. For example, voice control will only be available on devices that support this functionality. Similarly, the 3D view for smart glasses will only be used on glasses with this functionality – others will only display available 2D content.
When is it better to use smart glasses instead of mobile devices?
You’ll especially appreciate smart glasses if your technicians need to keep their hands free for work. But customers often use Lumnio on multiple types of devices – and rotate them as needed. For example, you’ll use shared smart glasses on the production floor, or a tablet in the dispatch centre.
How do you license Lumnio for smart glasses?
Lumnio uses 2 types of licences. We assign a licence to a specific device (e.g. smart glasses) or a specific user (e.g. service technician) as desired by the customer. So it depends on which option you choose. If you choose a licence for specific smart glasses, any employee with a Lumnio account will be able to log in, even if they don’t have their own licence. Or you can purchase a user licence for a specific technician, who will then be able to access Lumnio on any device (smart glasses, tablet or smartphone).
Licensing
Can I try Lumnio for free first?
Yes, you can. There is a 30-day trial where you can test all the features. At the end of the trial period, you can decide whether to continue using the application.
How is the application paid for?
You can pay for the licence either online by payment card or by bank transfer based on an invoice. We offer monthly and annual subscription options. The annual subscription is 20% cheaper and administratively easier.
Can I buy fewer than 5 licences?
No, the minimum number of licences is 5. This allows multiple devices and/or users to use the system at the same time. Lumnio will be appreciated by your technicians, dispatchers and training material creators. You can also use the licence on shared devices, whether it’s smart glasses, tablets or smartphones.
Do you give any discounts?
Yes. If you are looking for a solution for more than 50 users, we will agree on an individual price. Just contact us.
